I haven't heard
Alexisonfire's first album but I have
heard about five songs from it and thought
that they had more of a heavy, post-hardcore
style but their new album "Watchout!"
seems to have a more mellower, post-emocore
sound.
Guitarist Dallas Greene does a lot of
the singing on the album. He has a great
voice that gives the songs an emotional
feeling where George's screaming gives
the songs a much more hardcore feel.
When I heard pervious songs from Alexisonfire
it was hard to understand the screaming
but on "Watchout!"
the screaming is much more easier to
understand. Then there is the music
which is so well put together. The guitar
hooks range from soft to melodic to
heavy to aggressive where the bass lines
are thick and really standout and the
drumming is solid and hard hitting.
Also something that I love about Alexisonfire
is that their write such clever and
emotional lyrics.
In my opinion Alexisonfire are one of
the best bands to come from Canada and
"Watchout!" is a
great album that fans of Thrice, Funeral
For A Friend and A Static Lullaby will
love.
